Mental Health Awareness Week – Let’s talk body image

It’s Mental Health Awareness Week with this years’ focus being body image.

According to The Mental Health Foundation, last year they found that 30% of all adults have felt so stressed by body image and appearance that they felt overwhelmed or unable to cope, that’s almost 1 in every 3 people. Body images issues can affect anyone at any age and can directly impact our mental health.

There is still a lack of understanding and research around the affects body image has on our mental health, so the aim for this years’ awareness week is to highlight how people can experience body image issues differently, including people of different ages, genders, sexualities and ethnicities and what support available.
